Temple Street Slow Jams

Between 2009-2017, five people were killed and 21 people severely injured in traffic collisions on Temple Street in the Historic Filipinotown neighborhood of Los Angeles. We worked with Los Angeles Walks and Public Matters on branding for Temple Street Slow Jams, a week long program of interventions, including mural painting, crosswalk performances, jeepney neighborhood tours, and more—all to promote safety and slower traffic on Temple. The programming was part of the City of LA’s Vision Zero safety initiative.

The design for the event collateral features different means that residents and visitors use to get around on Temple St, encouraging them all to embrace a slower vibe on the street, to slow down and enjoy the neighborhood.
